In my experience they make getting help if you're homeless just about impossible! You call, you get an answering machine and it tells you that you need to get an appointment, to get an appointment you have to call between these TWO specific hours on this SPECIFIC day. Then you're told that there ARE NO APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE AGAIN, at this time!! Really?! When you're homeless, if it's specifically Monday, and you're calling on a Tuesday, 6 days away, before it's Monday again and you can call AGAIN to get told AGAIN that there are NO APPOINTMENTS, seems an eternity!!! I would NEVER HAVE THOUGHT that I would become homeless, but sometimes life throws you a curveball, I now have a brand new understanding of what the homeless people go through and my heart GOES OUT TO THEM! God bless them!! There really is JUST NO HELP FOR THE HOMELESS. So be understanding to them!! When you're out there in the same clothes you have been in for weeks and months, having ONLY WHAT YOU CAN CARRY AROUND WITH YOU, You become so hopeless and frustrated and you go to the internet looking for every organization that you possibly can that gives you SO MUCH MISINFORMATION, and you need to go HERE, THERE AND EVERYWHERE TO HAVE "INTAKES", and you don't have a car either, and you can't even scrape together enough coins to take a bus or light rail so you miss the INTAKE appointment...So you START OVER and call, tell them you're situation, how DESPITE AND FRIGHTENED AND HUNGRY AND TIRED AND DISAPPOINTED YOU ARE...So here you are again, making ANOTHER appointment hoping that on that day you'll have enough change to take a bus. Yada Yada, YADA!!!! Be KIND TO THE HOMELESS PEOPLE YOU SEE ON THE STREET!!! Say "HI, HOW YOU DOIN?! ACKNOWLEDGE THEM!!! SMILE FOR THEM!!! THEY ARE JUST LIKE THE REST OF US, EXCEPT LIFE THREW THIS HORRIFIC, FRIGHTENING, HOPELESS, CURVEBALL AT THEM!!! THEY'RE DOING THE BEST THAT THEY CAN!! Nobody, NOBODY WANTS TO BE LIVING IN THE STREETS, PARKS, UNDERPASSES, SHOPPING CENTERS ETC!! They are doing the best that they can but it really IS a hopeless situation!!@

I volunteered here and I couldn’t care less. I like the idea of helping people. But don’t volunteer here. Break room has no room to sit, only a few chairs. You need to sit after breaking your back. Place is very weird. I had to deal with diapers and feminine products and people automatically assumed we thought it was weird. It wasn’t. They nagged on how people needed these products. We realize that. Also forced lgbt propaganda on us I absolutely hate that.

I've been going to sacred heart for years. I was homeless in need of food I was starving and they help me when no one else would. I believe all the resources do help. But if you try to lie and cheat the church then you get nothing. Trust me they know who is in need and who is lying. God sees everything. These organizations needs more funding to all the rich people donate to this organization cause they give back to the community. I haven't been there in a few years but I'm having hard times and am headed back see who is running it now. And get some of there vegis. Don't give up on getting rental assistance. If your on drugs pleaseg off of these drugs there killing people. There are people like sacred heart that will help you get back on your feet. Apply for low income housing go to the library or ask sacred heart to use there computers. Ones you get on the list. Sacred heart will help with rental move in. You have to show proof rental agreement phone number of landlord cause they verify everything. If it's legitimate and you're being honest they will help you and the check will go direct to the landlord. Pray to God to guide you in the right direction and I promise you that he will help you pray and God will help you I promise. Remember don't let no one get you down stay strong and fight for your life. Take advantage of the work programs. If your on drugs put yourself in rehap to get stable. For women call Mariposa Lodge. And for man call pathways. Mental health is important to get your mind back on track. It's your journey take your life back. God bless all my brothers and sisters.
